Clean Diesel offers a flow-through particulate matter (PM) emission control system. The system doesn’t create back pressure on the engine and as a result saves fuel usage compared to filters.

EnviroClean Diesel Tech system which is also known as “Diesel Particulate Removal System (DPRS)”  is designed to meet emissions standards for the reduction of diesel exhaust particulate matter (PM). It is a true flow through device with no restrictions resulting in no back pressure on the engine (no fuel penalty), thermal management, and regeneration requirements compared to current filter-based technologies. It has low initial cost and virtually no operating cost. DPRS is a plasma-catalytic oxidation system.

The patented system is based on non-thermal plasma technology. A corona discharge is created by applying high voltage to a unique probe geometry enclosed within a chamber configuration which may be mounted anywhere in the exhaust path piping. The device is not dependent on heat from the engine for operation. It is active, removing black carbon soot, as soon as the engine is started. No engine warm up is required.

Disruptive Technology

Our core technology features a patent protected method of using non-thermal plasma (NTP) or plasma-catalytic oxidation  for removing particulate matter (PM) and other pollutants found in diesel engine exhaust. DPRS has been in development for several years with support from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA).

The DPRS product is offered in two different configurations:

  • DPRS: 70+% PM REDUCTION
  • DPRS +DOC: 85+% PM REDUCTION

Clean Diesel System Testing & Verification

  • DPRS has been field tested for a variety of applications including transit buses, shuttle buses, generator sets and on engine dyno test setups.
  • Currently, DPRS is undergoing durability tests on a school bus. Also the plans are underway to apply for CARB verification for both on-road and off-road applications.

Unique Value

A typical DPRS system has three main components:

  1. Power supply, which converts 12 volt or 24 volt to Pulse High Voltage
  2. Exhaust pipe chamber insert, which contains the plasma-emitting probe or electrode.
  3. Fault indicator light, the HV and LV wiring harness, and associated electrical attachments.
